Stock Market Closing: Sensex, Nifty end with gains; buying in RIL, L&T
Stock Market Today: The 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex climbed 317.93 points to close at 77,606.43. The NSE Nifty rallied 105.10 points or 0.45 per cent to 23,591.95.

Mumbai: The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 317.93 points to close at 77,606.43 on March 27, 2025, Thursday. The NSE Nifty rallied 105.10 points to end at 23,591.95. The stock market indices rebounded continuous foreign fund inflows and buying in blue-chip Reliance Industries, L&T, and Bajaj Finance.
The Sensex pack gainers included, Adani Ports, Bajaj Finance, NTPC, HDFC Bank, Larsen & Toubro, Titan, UltraTech Cement, Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank, Power Grid, Zomato, and State Bank of India.
Laggards included, Tata Motors, which tanked over 5.5 per cent after US President Donald Trump announced he would impose 25 per cent tariffs on imported cars. Other laggards included, Bharti Airtel, HCL Tech, Mahindra & Mahindra, Sun Pharma, and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
The 30-share Sensex gained 202.83 points to 77,491.33 in early trade today. The broader Nifty went up went up by 48.65 points to 23,535.50.
According to exchange data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) purchased equities worth Rs 2,240.55 crore on March 26, 2o25. Hong Kong and Shanghai traded in Green while Tokyo and Seoul traded lower. The US stock markets ended in the negative territory on Wednesday. The global oil benchmark Brent crude traded 0.07 per cent up at USD 73.84 a barrel.
“Domestic indices maintained optimism throughout the day, driven by sustained foreign fund inflows and the purchase of blue-chip stocks. However, the 25 per cent tariff on auto imports imposed by Trump has affected auto stocks and raised concerns within the pharma sector.
“Despite these challenges, the broader market demonstrated resilience, supported by expectations of double-digit earnings growth in FY26, driven by easing inflation and a downward trend in interest rates, which are anticipated to improve domestic fundamentals,” Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments Limited, said.
The BSE benchmark gauge dropped 728.69 points to settle at 77,288.50 on Wednesday. The Nifty declined 181.80 points to 23,486.85.
