Marriott Bonvoy is going “Points For Points” with NCAA basketball’s “March Madness” tournament.
To celebrate its ninth year as the official hotel partner of the NCAA and March Madness, Marriott Bonvoy -- Marriott International's portfolio of hotel brands and experiences--– launched the “Points for Points” promotional sweepstakes, which will offer a prize in rewards points equivalent to the number of points during the 2025 men's and women's tournaments. Points can be redeemed for for hotel stays and experiences.
“Points for Points” kicked off on March 10, the first day members could apply, with entries remaining open through the start of the NCAA tournament’s Sweet Sixteen round on March 27. While limited to Marriott Bonvoy members, the brand notes that the rewards program is free to join. At the conclusion of the March Madness championship games, the brand will randomly select 134 winners.

The brand is also providing members an opportunity to bid on VIP Marriott Bonvoy Moments packages ahead of the Men's and Women's Final Four stage of the tournaments.
Marriott Bonvoy hotels – including San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter on the River Walk, JW Marriott Tampa Water Street – will also host fans traveling to the Women's Final Four championship in Tampa, Florida, and the Men's Final Four championship in San Antonio, Texas, where they can also attend free basketball-themed events including the Men's Final Four Tip-Off Tailgate presented by Nissan, and the Women's Final Four Party on the Plaza presented by Buick. There, Marriott Bonvoy members can get a sneaker cleaning and customization experience presented by Moxy Hotels, one of more than 30 brands under the Marriott Bonvoy banner.
Promoting its loyalty membership program seems to be a priority for the company, which says it grew the program by 31 million new members last year, to nearly 228 million members. In a recent earnings call with investors, Marriott International CEO Anthony Capuano said, “property teams around the world have really embraced our efforts to continue to add high-value members to the program.”
“My view is that creates a great opportunity to open the aperture and bring in younger Bonvoy members,” he added, “those that are just starting the evolution of their travel journey. So I think that's a big opportunity for us.”
