NEPSE drops by 32 points to settle at 2,719.20

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has fallen by 32.21 points. The capital market has been in a continuous downward trend for the last seven days. Today, the NEPSE index has settled at 2,719.20 points after a decline of 1.17 percent.

According to NEPSE, 15,559,683 shares of 303 companies were bought and sold 92,311 times, with a turnover of Rs 8.391 billion.

Today, the development banking group increased by 1.93 percent, while the sub-indices of all other groups decreased. Banking decreased by 0.71, finance by 1.57, hotels and tourism by 1.13, hydropower by 1.51, investment by 1.89 and life insurance by 1.30 percent. Similarly, the manufacturing and processing group decreased by 2.49 percent, microfinance by 0.89 percent, mutual funds by 0.10 percent, non-life insurance by 0.99 percent, trade by 1.79 percent and other groups by 1.68 percent.

In terms of transaction amount, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited recorded the highest transaction today with a value of Rs 586.517 million. In terms of the number of shares traded, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited recorded the highest transaction with 991.444 shares.
