German shares gain 1.43 pct Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 216.47 points, or 1.43 percent, to close at 15,348.53 points.

Publicly traded meal-kit company HelloFresh won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.86 percent. Marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group and international pharmaceutical and laboratory equipment supplier Sartorius gained 3.77 percent and 3.36 percent respectively.

Multinational E-commerce company Zalando, Deutsche Bank and material manufacturer Covestro were the top three losers among the blue chips, falling 3.02 percent, 1.10 percent and 0.66 percent respectively.

German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most-traded share with a turnover of 249.27 million euros (292.59 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 2.76 percent to close at 1.490 euros per share on Tuesday.
