Foreign Investments Attraction Index: Oman ranks fourth among Arab countries

Muscat: The Sultanate ranks fourth in the Arab world in the Foreign Investments Attraction Index 2020 issued by the FDI Intelligence.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said, “The report showed that Oman attracted the worth of $3.5 billion last year, but noted that the COVID-19 pandemic weighed negatively on foreign investments in the Arab region in general, particularly in the sectors of tourism and transport, following slow rates of global economic growth."

"The report referred to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)’s estimates of expected 40% decline in foreign investments worldwide and to precautionary measures due to be undertaken by countries to address this issue," the statement added.
