Share market update: Auto shares in the red; TVS Motor down 2%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the red in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of Amara Raja Batteries (down 2.31 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 2.30 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 2.05 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 1.42 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

Bajaj Auto (down 1.20 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (down 1.05 per cent), Exide Industries (down 0.61 per cent) and MRF (down 0.32 per cent) too were trading lower.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.37 per cent down at 7646.10 around 09:45 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.55 points at 11,618.90 while the BSE Sensex was up 108.69 points at 39,005.40.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Vodafone Idea, Dish TV India, Tata Motors, Indiabulls Housing Finance, SAIL, PNB, ONGC and Infosys were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
