As a key participant and supporter of digitalisation of vital industrial sector, and to further the cause of continuing the dialogue on technology as a transformative force in shaping the future of energy sector, Senior executives from du leadership team participated in panel discussions, including Farid Faraidooni, Deputy CEO, EITC, Saleem Al Blooshi, Chief Infrastructure Officer, EITC and Jihad Tayara, VP Business Development & Partnerships. Topics of discussion during the event included mobility solutions, driving the digital economy, and 5G use cases in the oil and gas industry. The annual summit is a platform for leading technology solution providers, technology investors, and energy companies, from across the value chain, to network, showcase, and discover new products and solutions.

Farid Faraidooni discussed ‘Connecting Digital Transformation with Mobility Solutions’, where he looked at transformative technology and the digital future, as well as what telecommunication companies can do to enable these smart solutions. Jihad Tayara’s panel discussion looked at, ‘Driving the Digital Economy’ where he explained what is currently stimulating the digital economy, and how digital disruption will change the way companies business in smart energy sectors. He also looked towards the future, to see how this will change the competitive landscape, and what comes next. This led nicely onto Saleem Al Blooshi’s panel discussion, ‘5G and Its use cases for oil & Gas industry’. He looked towards future digitalisation and how it will bridge the gap in automation, infrastructure, and high-speed latency. Balooshi also mentioned the unique partnership between Yahsat, du, Etihad Engineering, Hughes Network Systems and Carlisle Interconnect, which is set to drive a new superfast connection, and is planned to be available to passengers in 2018 - 2019.

 ‘The Energy Digitalisation Summit Middle East’ is the only forum specifically focused on IoT, IIoT big data, and analytics for the energy industry. It is an event that enables buyers and sellers from the technology and energy sectors to come together in a unique and focused setting, discussing the future of smart solutions.
