CAMBODIA 

1. PREAH SIHANOUK TO BE KINGDOM’S LOGISTIC HUB -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE 

Prime Minister Hun Manet announced that Preah Sihanouk province will be the nation’s logistics hub and it will receive an additional RM4.4 billion (US$1 billion) to develop its deep-sea port. Preah Sihanouk hosts nearly 4,000 factories and employs over 127,000 workers.

2. LAO-THAI PARTNERSHIP TO BOOST ZOO TOURISM -- VIENTIANE TIMES

Laos’ Phongsavanh Group signed a pact with the Zoological Park Organisation of Thailand to promote zoo tourism in the two countries. This is expected to increase the number of visitors travelling between Laos and Thailand and benefit both economies.

2. YANGON KICKS OFF WASTE-TO-ENERGY PROJECT -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Yangon has launched waste-to-energy projects for sustainable power supply to meet the long-term electricity demand in the region. Myanmar is tapping into multiple renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power.  The project is to ensure a balanced energy mix.
