Slovakia interested in co-op with Kyrgyzstan on climate change issues

Bishkek, Jan.17, 2020./Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Slovak Republic Bakyt Dzhusupov took part in the annual meeting of Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová with ambassadors, accredited to the country, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

During the meeting, Bakyt Dzhusupov briefed the Slovak leader on the steps taken to further develop mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries.

In addition, the Kyrgyz ambassador told about the message of President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and the tasks, set by him to the Foreign Ministry of the country.

It was particularly noted that environmental diplomacy is among the priorities and a new direction.

Zuzana Čaputová expressed interest in joint work between the two countries on climate change and environmental protection.

As part of the visit to Bratislava, Ambassador Dzhusupov held a bilateral meeting with Natália Barinková, Director of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency, who supported the ambassador's proposal to hold a separate business forum, and agreed to provide necessary assistance in forming a group of businessmen interested in investing in hydropower, tourism, agriculture and other sectors of the Kyrgyz economy.

Dzhusupov also gave an interview to an RTV correspondent on bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Slovakia since the establishment of diplomatic relations, on Interhelpo industrial cooperative and the main tasks and plans of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Slovakia for 2020.
